PITMINSTER CP ST11NE LOWTON 9/116 Range of outbuildings to north of Lowton Manor and walls enclosing garden, returned to south-east corner of house GV II Range of outbuildings including coach house, tack room and large carriageway entrance with garden wall returned to house. C18, altered C19, extended at rear C20. Chert stone rubble, hipped slate roof, brick stack to right of coach house. Plan: long range of buildings forming north side of courtyard on entrance front of Lowton Manor (qv) and continued forming north wall of garden on east front of house with wall returned to south-east corner. Single storey, 4 bays left of carriageway entrance, unlit to right, segmental headed coach house entrance, stable door to right, 2 semi-circular headed windows beyond, impressive 4-bay carriageway entrance with shouldered posts, nesting boxes under eaves, entrances to lofts on returns, right hand range unlit on garden front. Random rubble chert wall enclosing garden. Forms a good group with Lowton Manor.
