Details
1. 5365 FORE STREET (South Side) Midland Bank ST 1320 1/63 II GV
2. Prominent corner building. 2 storey stucco and ashlar fronts with angle splayed into South Street. Probably mid C19 with later bank fronts on ground floor. Slate roof with tall red brick stack. Eaves gutter cornice. Stucco to 1st floor with 2 windows facing Fore Street; one window on splayed angle with shouldered architrave, flanking volutes and apron; one further window to South Street. Sashes in plain reveals, thin glazing bars. Ashlar bank fronts have overall fascia with deep cornice, sill bands and rusticated plinth. Blocks with guttae at angles. 3 round-headed windows to Fore Street, 2 windows to South Street. All have shouldered architraves and keystones. Doorway with round-headed lunette and shouldered architrave. Double 3-panel doors.
Midland Bank and Nos 2 and 4 South Street form a group.
