GV II
House and adjoining boundary wall. c1875, with late C20 rear
addition. Rockfaced stone with ashlar dressings, timber-framed
first floor with rendered nogging. Patterned slate roof with
tile crest and 2 truncated gable stacks. Gothic Revival style.
Plinth, bargeboards to gables. 2 storeys; 2 window range.
In the centre, a moulded pointed arched doorway with
weatherstripped door. To left, a gabled wing with a canted
ground floor containing a pointed arched casement with
traceried tympanum, flanked by trefoil-headed lights with
corbelling above. Patterned timber framing to the first floor,
with a 3-light wooden framed cross casement. To right, a
pointed arched casement with shafts and sidelights. Above, a
large raking dormer on ashlar brackets, with patterned timber
framing, containing a shaped cross casement, 3 lights, under a
gable. At the rear, an octagonal turret, 2 stages, with
timber-framed upper stage, hipped gables, and conical lead
roof.
Adjoining boundary wall to east, rock-faced stone with
chamfered ashlar coping, approx 10m long.
