KILMERSD0N CP ST75SW AMMERDOWN PARK 6/139 Nos 1, 2 and 3 (Radstock Lodges), gate piers and gates 11.3.68 - II
Two lodges, (one divided into 2 dwellings), gate piers and gates; at driveway entrance to Ammerdown House (qv). Early C19. No. 3 to left rendered, slate roof, end gables with moulded stone copings; Tudor style; 2 storeys, driveway front of 2 bays, moulded 2-light stone-mullioned windows with drips; end elevation to public highway with 2-light stone-mullioned window on first floor and 4-light canted bay to ground floor; lozenge shaped panel to gable face; door opening to centre of driveway front, label formed by continuation of window drips, panelled door, upper part glazed. Nos 1 and 2 to right, of random rubble, hipped slate roof, concrete tiles at rear, brick stacks; Cottage-0rnee style; two storeys, driveway front of 3 bays, 2-light casements, each light in a pointed-headed reveal, similar single-light window to centre of first floor. Central pointed arch door opening, plank door, second door opening on left return. Between the lodges are double gate piers of ashlar with plain caps. Square on plan; the inner pair with rampant bronze lions holding heraldic shields, the outer pair of lesser height with Grecian urns. Ornamental outer pedestrian gates of wrought-iron, centre gates missing.
