House, now flats. Dated 1769. Doulting ashlar, slate roof, ashlar stacks. Classical style, symmetrical facade. 3-storeys, 9-bays, 3:3:3, central 3-windows in angular bay raising through all floors supported on 3-semi-circular arches with imposts forming an open porch to main entrance. Semi- circular head door opening with radiating fanlight and 6-panelled door. Porch flanked by sashes with glazing bars in moulded architraves, similar treatment to first and second floor openings except first floor sills on moulded brackets with triangular pediment over central opening of each group of 3-windows. Moulded and dentil cornice surmounted by plain parapet with coping. 0rnamental rainwater head to left dated 1769. Projecting wing at right angles to facade, rendered, slate roof. 3-storeys, 8-bays, being 2-light stone mullioned windows, except at extreme right of wing where second floor has triple light window, venetian window below. Door opening having flat entablature on slender Tuscan columns. Once Convent of Visitation Nuns belonging to Order founded c1617 by St Francois de Sales. Community disbanded c1810.
