2. In "The Ope". Late C17/early C18. 2 storeys rubble, roughly coursed. Pantile roof 2 windows, 3-light casements with drips and wooden mullions fronting stone cavetto moulded mullions, centre lights are sashes. Ground floor right hand window a modern 2-light casement. Central doorway. Disturbance to right hand side (caused by a later cottage joining to No 20, and removed). The former roofline is visible from right hand return and the 'shadow' of the 2 former gables of a 1½ storey cottage can just be made out in front. 1 bay 2 storey extension to rear with a pair of early C19 multi-pane sashes on ground floor, stair projection adjoins with catslide roof. Interior: stairs appear to be early C19 with turned newels. See also RCHM. Trinity Area.
