Houses, now shops in row. Probably C18. Local stone pebbledash rendered and colourwashed; concrete double Roman tiles
with plain gable. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central 6-panel door, framed by attaced Doric columns, entablature and pediment;
early C20 shop fronts to either side each having recessed central doorways, simple fascias; above, early C20 triple
sash window to match in bay 3 with horizontal sliding centre light; wrot iron bracket for hanging sign between bays 1
and 2. Interiors not seen. No 5 was the George Inn until late C18, first mentioned in 1577; said to have good stairs
inside. (Couzens P, Bruton in Selwood, Abbey Press, Sherborne, 1972).
