STAMFORD BRIDGE MAIN STREET 7155 (north side, off) 7/53 The Corn Mill (formerly listed as Stamford Bridge Mill) 26.1.67 - II
Watermill. Early C19 main range with late C18, gabled, parallel range behind. Red-brown brick, ashlar, pantiled roofs. Main range of 5 storeys and basement, 7 bays, with 2-storey, 2-bay projecting wing to front over centre 3 bays. Basement: round-headed arches to bays 1, 2, 6 and 7 for sluices. C20 extensions to rear and to left and right are not of special interest. C20 two-light casements with glazing bars under square heads to ground floor, similar windows under segmental brick arches to all other floors. Projecting wing has similar windows to ground floor, and large C20 casements with glazing bars to all 3 sides of the first floor. Hipped roofs. Earlier range to rear has steeply pitched roof with raised coped gables on shaped kneelers.
