II
Row of 4 houses. Late C18 - early C19 with earlier origins and later
additions and alterations. House to west of pinkish-yellow brick, otherwise
pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond,with pantile roofs. Double-range plan
to end houses. 2 storeys, 7 first-floor windows, house to east has one
first-floor window, others have two. Early C19 house to west has central
plank door below blocked overlight with decorative glazing bars and flat
arch, flanked by 16-pane sashes, those to ground floor below cambered brick
arches. Two central houses with identical elevations; 2 steps to plank
door below divided overlight and flat arch with 16-pane sash to left, below
similar arch. Similar window above and similar blocked painted window over
door. House to east with plank door below segmental arch to left, large
6-pane shop window below frieze and hood to right. Above central 16-pane
sash. Roof in 2 levels. Ridge and end stacks. Only Butcher's House (to
west end) in occupation at time of resurvey.
