SE 70 SE HAXEY EPWORTH ROAD (west side) Low Burnham 11/106 Burnham Mill
- II
Windmill tower. 1811. Tarred red brick. Tapered round tower of 4 storeys. Ground floor has doors to north and south, single windows to east and west. First floor has windows to north, south and east, second and third floors have single windows to north and south. All openings beneath segmental arches, windows with later C19-C20 glazing and brick sills. Stepped and cogged brick cornice. Low C20 rebuilt roof on original rotating cap frame, surmounted by reset original ball finial. Interior retains original main beams and floors. Most machinery removed when mill was converted from wind to engine power in 1928. Still in use as a mill. Formerly known as Brock's Mill; since 1905 known as Burnham or Wilkinson's Mill.
