GV II House. Mid C18 with early C19 fenestration and later C19 rear wing. Colour-washed brick in irregular bond, pantile roof. Central-hallway entry with additional cross wing to rear. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Plinth. 4-panel door with overlight in doorcase with panelled jambs and reveals, and large acanthus consoles supporting dosserets, panelled frieze and cornice. Flanking tripartite sashes with glazing bars beneath flat brick arches. First floor: 16-pane sash flanked by tripartite sashes with glazing bars. All windows with stone sills. Stepped eaves course. Sprocketed eaves and steeply-pitched roof. Stacks removed. Interior: deeply chamfered ceiling beam to hall. Closed-string staircase with column-on-vase balusters and square newels. 3-panel doors with H-L hinges to many cupboards. Neave D, Howden Explored, 1979.
