5/44 Cleatham House Farmhouse -
GV II
Farmhouse, now 2 houses. Late C18 with early-mid C19 bow windows and interior alterations. c1970 alterations to left side. Coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and stacks. Front rendered, with incised masonry lines. Lead roofs to bow windows, slate elsewhere. 2 storeys, 5 bays: 3-bay symmetrical frontage on right. Original entrance in fourth bay: Doric doorcase with attached pilasters supporting open dentilled pediment and hood has part-glazed panelled door and radial fanlight in panelled reveal. C20 glazed door in C20 surround with fluted pilasters and pediment in second bay. Full-height bow windows flanking main door have tripartite sashes with glazing bars in flush wood architraves above stone cills. C20 casement to left end. First floor has 12-pane sash above door with surround of beaded pilasters supporting open pediment on brackets, and 2 casements to left end in original openings. Flat roofs to bows. Axial and end-stacks. Interior: main front rooms have fielded panel doors in beaded architraves and moulded wooden ceiling cornices; staircase to rear has turned balusters with square knops.
