8/12 Hexton Manor Farmhouse - - II
Farmhouse. Probably C18, renovated early C19. Chalk clunch faced with stucco lined as ashlar. Parallel hipped slate roofs with projecting eaves and wooden cornice with blocks, and white brick chimneys. A large 2-storeys, 3 windows wide, double-pile plan house facing E, with chimneys on the mid-wall. Set back from street. Near symmetrical E front with 2 + 1 recessed sash windows to 1st floor of 8/8 panes and triple sashes with small panes flanking the entrance itself offset to left of centre. 6-panels half-glazed flush-beaded door in simple surround with corner blocks, and 2 steps. Gabled tiled hood on posts. Symmetrical S garden front has 3 windows to each floor with recessed sash windows of 8/8 panes, and 2 French windows.
