WESTON DANE END LANE TL 22 NE 5/94 Dane End Farmhouse - GV II
Farmhouse. Late C17, C18 brick S front, C19 windows. Timber frame roughcast, red brick S front, steep hipped old red tile roof. A tall rectangular 2-storeys, cellar, and attics, double-pile plan Queen Anne style house with 2 large mid-wall chimneys, on an eminence facing S at NE of farmstead. Symmetrical added S front has 5 windows to 1st floor, projecting eaves band, gauged flat arches, 4 windows to ground floor and central entrance. Recessed sash windows with 3/3 panes on 1st floor, and 6/6 panes on ground floor. Moulded doorcase with swelled frieze, shaped brackets with guttae, and flat hood. 6-fielded panels door with fanlight. Older symmetrical N front has deep plaster eaves cove, 3 gabled dormers on roofslope, 3 windows to each floor. Entrance off-centre to right of central window. 3-lights flush casement windows with drips. 6-panels flush-beaded door (top 2 glazed) with triangular hood on shaped brackets. On E plank door to rear room with moulded flat hood on brackets. Sun fire insurance plaque No. 135941. External bell under eaves on W.
