GV II

Public house. Early C18, W end early C19, rear extension C20. Timber frame roughcast, with brick W end part also-roughcast. Steep pitched roofs with old red tile to front but slates to rear and to rear extensions. A long 1½-storeys building facing N with 3 large gabled porches to front alternating with 4 windows, and another window to W part with blind recess over. 3 gabled dormers rising through eaves with 2-lights casements. 2- and 3-lights casement windows with cast-iron lattice lights. Central porch now has 3-light sash window. Tiled lean-to extension to E end and 1½-storeys gabled rear extension. Shallow 3-light lattice casements under eaves at rear above lean-to C20 outshut. Interior has exposed framed partitions and floor structure of a 3-cells, lobby-entry plan with axial beam only to heated middle bay. Axial joists to narrower end bays. Cellar below E end.
