House. C17, heightened to 2 storeys in late C18 or early C19. Timber
frame roughcast with slated roof but red tiled rear kitchen and red
pantiled rear lean-to. A 2 storeys, 2-cells, internal chimney, lobby
entry plan house facing W, with N end lean-to, gabled closed porch, rear
lean-to single storey gabled kitchen at NE linked to rear to a 2 storeys
timber framed dark weatherboarded mid C19 stable with roof now of
corrugated iron. Small parlour at S probably unheated. W front has 2
windows to each floor and porch in middle. 3-light flush casement
windows. Lean-to on N end has a sash window with 6/6 panes. Interior has
exposed timbers with jowled post at NW corner, face-halved bladed scarf
joint in former rear wallplate by stair (house 1½ storeys before raised
to 2 storeys in late C18), chamfered and stopped axial beam carrying
floor over hall with squared joists. Winding stair behind chimney. Old
plank door with iron fittings.
