GV II
Farmbuildings. Late C18 - early C19. Brick with pantile roofs. U-shaped on plan; encloses small foldyard to west of South View Farmhouse (qv). Barn/stable/granary range on north side, stable/granary range on west side, stable range on south side. North range of 2 builds, with low 2-storey threshing barn and adjoining stable/granary with higher 2-storey section to east. South side of range, facing foldyard: barn has board door beneath segmental arch, pilaster strip and single breather slit to left; stable/granary to right has board stable door flanked by breather slits, small single slatted wooden hatch above; section to right has board stable door with small breather in blocked opening to right, single slatted wooden hatch above. Stepped eaves to both stable/granary sections. Tumbled-in brick to raised gables. Left gable end has board door beneath pair of breather slits and blocked attic door, wrought-iron letters "W M". North side of range has segmental-headed door and hatch to barn, and later 6-bay implement shed outshut on wooden piers. Western stable/granary range, east side: central 2-storey single-window section flanked by single-storey ranges. East side has central section with board stable door beneath segmental arch flanked by small rectangular breathers; above, a first-floor board door with cat-hole beneath lintel at eaves level to right, and a glazed hatch to left beneath segmental arch. Lower range to right, adjoining barn, has stable door and single slatted wooden hatch beneath segmental arches. West side has row of 4 small breather holes to central section, board hatch door above, pair of breather holes to left. Single- storey south stable/stalls range has 2-bay open section to west, and stables to east. North side: single brick pier to open section to right, 3 board doors (one beneath segmental arch), single slatted wooden hatch and breather slit to left; left gable end has pair of board doors beneath timber lintel, angled corner to foldyard entrance with roof hipped above. South side has a series of small breather holes below eaves level. Together with farmhouse to east (qv), presents an well-preserved example of a small late C18 - early C19 Axholme farm. Farmbuildings included for group value.
