House. C16 or earlier rear (N) wing, floor inserted and front (S) wing heightened in Cl7 reusing smoke-blackened rafters, and single-storey kitchen added at N end of rear wing, renovated in C19, small front dormers added c1935. Timber frame, plastered with panelled pargetting. Steep old red tile roofs. Corrugated asbestos lean-to roof to dairy in NW angle. A T-plan house of 2 storeys facing S. Rear wing has a 2-bay C16 range with inserted floor on chamfered axial beam, and tension bracing in its close- studded N end wall. Single-storey N kitchen of one bay with internal N gable chimney. S range is a 2-cell, central chimney plan building with winding stair behind chimney. Floor carried on 2 cross beams in each half. Deep cupboard may occupy site of central lobby entry. Now separate entrances into each room from outside. S front has 2 windows to each floor, 2-light flush mullioned windows with small paned casements. Small 2-light casement window in gabled dormer at eaves over each upper window to increase light in upper rooms. 3-light diamond-mullioned window head found during alterations on 1st floor near E end. Large central red brick chimney with 4 diagonal flues set saltire fashion, with corbelled caps. 4-panel flush-beaded door in weatherboarded tiled porch near left hand corner. Glazed door in C18 moulded frame with flat hood on brackets on E gable of front block. Tiled roofs step down to rear. 2-storeys canted bay window on W gable. Clasped-purlin roofs. Inclined queen-post trusses in rear wing with jowled heads to posts. Wide stone C18 fire surround to W room. 2-panel doors on 1st floor.
