House. C17 or earlier, Gothicised in early C19, modern rear lean-to. One and a half storeys, timberframed, plastered house facing N. Steep old red tiled gabled roof with large square chimney one third from the W end, and 3 gabled dormers on the front wall plate. Appears to have a 3-unit plan with unheated service room at E end and entrance door moved eastwards. Described as a house and shop in the 1846 Tithe Award (HRO). C19 cusped bargeboards with moulded pendants. Plank door in raised plaster surround under lefthand dormer. Similar surrounds to 2 windows. 2-light flush wooden mullioned windows with cast iron lattice casements to Ground floor. Diamond lattice leaded lights to 2-light dormer window, each with an iron opening light. An interesting small timberframed house. Part of picturesque group opposite the Plume of Feathers P H.
