GV II
House. Circa 1700, W range c.1750, renovated c.1980. Red brick in 2 builds, N and S sides and rear (E) now plastered leaving brick dentilled eaves band exposed. Steep hipped tiled roof. C20 brick and tile garage at NE corner not of special interest. Original 2 storeys and cellar rear part has 2 windows to each floor on irregular E elevation with door in middle reached by 7 steps. Triple sashes set flush on LH and flush sashes with 8/8 panes on RH. Offset plinth higher in later front range with different floor levels. Symmetrical W front has a plinth, moulded brick eaves cornice and a parapet. 3 windows wide with central door. Flush box sash windows with flat gauged arches and 6/6 panes. Regency wooden doorcase with 3/4 columns and full entablature. Feather and paterae capitals and paterae on frieze where it breaks forward over each column. Deep panelled arched reveals and glazed double doors with radial fanlight. Moulded interior window shutters. French windows and 8/12 sash window over on S flank with a triple sash window on each floor of rear range. The miller's house of Kings Langley watermill now demolished.
