13/45 The Leasowes Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse. Early C17, extended early C18 with some mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-frame with painted brick infill and brick with stone dressings and tile roof. T-plan, C17 cross-wing, aligned north-west/south- east of two framed bays; other C18 range extends to south-west. South-east front: to right the gabled cross-wing of two storeys with gable-lit attic, 2-light casement to first floor, 3-light casement to ground floor, entrance to right has a C19 boarded door under a lean-to porch with corrugated iron roof; to left the C18 range has a hipped roof, stone quoins, moulded stone string; two windows: both under basket arches, blocked to left, a C20 case- ment to right; ground floor: 2-light C20 casement to left, to right entrance with moulded stone architrave, 2-pane overlight and 6-panelled door. Stacks placed laterally on cross-wing of brick with stone quoins. Framing: gable ends jettied, three square panels high to first floor, close-studded to ground floor.
