II

Barn or stable, now Catholic church. C17 with mid-C18 and mid-C19 altera- tions and additions. Timber-framed with painted brick infill but with much painted brick refacing, replacement walling and additions; sandstone base; plain tiled roof. Four bays aligned north-east!south-west. Second bay from north-east end has exposed framing in its north-west elevation; two large panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in lower corners. There are two by 2-light leaded Windows near eaves level in the side elevations. Main entrance in north-east gable end has a door with a cambered head; above it is a pointed window with leaded glass above and there is a crucifix in the gable apex. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest. A mid-C19 single-storey addition adjoins the south-west gable end; it has a door in its south-east side and an end stack.
