BREEDON-ON-THE-HILL BREEDON BRAND SK 42 SW 4/16 Brandgate Farmhouse and attached outbuilding - II
House with attached outbuilding. House is C17 in origin, mostly rebuilt mid C18 and extended mid C18, with C20 alterations to fenestration. Brick, plain tile roofs, central brick chimney rebuilt C20. 2 storeys and attic; 2 original bays. Dentilled band courses at first floor level and to gable end at eaves level and above attic window. Corbelled dentil eaves. C20 3-light barred wooden casements, most in altered openings, the lower left window with segmental head. Blocked single light to first floor centre. Right gable end also has C20 barred wooden casements, bowed to ground floor. To left is a narrow C19 extension with 2-light casement over half-glazed door. 2 C19-C20 buttresses. Attached to left end is an outbuilding formerly stable, with 2-light wooden casement over stable door to left, and large pitching eye to right. C19 single-storey wing to rear. Interior has timber framing in original left gable end, and large central fireplace with roughly cambered lintel.
