Farmhouse. C17 with later C18 remodelling and late C19 or early C20 fenestration and further additions. Timber-framed core of earlier house with sandstone rubble refacing and further additions; tarred slate roof to main house, part pantiled roof to outshut. Rectangular plan possibly formerly of two bays aligned east/west with additional bay to west end and now continuous outshut to rear (north) built in two separate sections. East gable-end stack with integral stone winder staircase and entrance; later addition to west has gable-end stack and external stone staircase to first floor. Two storeys. East gable end has small 2-light wooden mullioned window to upper floor to right; heavy wooden frame to doorway to lower left with plain shaped head and ledged door; 2-light casement window to outshut to right. South front has two 2-light casement windows to first floor and three similar windows to the ground floor, the two to the right with cambered heads and one to the left with inserted concrete lintel. The outshut obscures the former square-panelled timber-framed outer north wall. Interior not inspected. (RCHM, Vol I, p 64, item 6.)
