Farmhouse. C14 remodelled mainly in C18. Timber-framed clad in coursed sandstone and rendered brick, slate roofs, external stone stack to east return, ridge stack to left of centre. H-plan consisting of former hall range to centre with solar cross-wing to west end and former buttery wing to east end. Two storeys. Five windows to principal entrance front to south arranged symmetrically 1:2:1 with a subsidiary window to right hand side of main range, glazing bar sashes to first floor windows, the centre two paired with external shutters, left gable has mid-C19 2-light casement to ground floor; all the first floor and gable end windows have projecting keystones. Lean-to early C20 verandah masks windows of central range and entry to right of centre. Interior: hall range contains spere-truss and ogee head to right into service cross-wing. Solar wing originally of four bays has exposed arch braces to a cambered moulded tie-beam supporting cusped principals and raking struts. (RCHM Vol II, p 217, plate 168).
