GV
Farmhouse. Cl7 with C18-C20 alterations. Timber-frame partly faced in
stuccoed brick, with coursed rubble stone plinth and rear left wing. Tile
roof with brick ridge and brick and stone massive projecting lateral stacks.
H-plan. 2 storeys and cellar. 4-window range in all of two 3-light casements
to left and two 2-light casements to right. 3 tripartite sashes on ground
floor and part-glazed door to centre right in recessed main range. Porch and
door on left end where some square-panel framing is visible. Further similar
framing visible to rear of right cross-wing (restored C20). To rear also are
lean-to and further 2-and 3-light casements. Timber-framing is also said to
remain on the front elevation but is now all covered in stuccoed brick.
Interior: stone-walled cellar, deeply chamfered cross beams, jowled posts,
and dog-leg secondary stair. The original queen-strut roof probably remains
in part but with restoration including some purlins in early C19.
