Details
EYE, MORETON & ASHTON SO 56 SW ASHTON CP 7/9 House, approximately 90 m north-east of Ashton Court (not listed) II House, now sub-divided into two tenements and formerly house with the village smithy. C17 core extensively altered during late C18 and mid- to late C19, further C20 alterations. Timber-framed core (largely replaced by C20 timber- ing) with sandstone rubble refacing and later additions, tiled roof, sandstone rubble stacks with brick shafts. Range aligned north/south with later additions to both ends and to west, entrances to east front. Two storeys, four 2-light casement windows, ground floor with centrally placed Venetian-type window flanked by 2-light casement windows and further flanked by ledged doors. Single-storey outbuildings adjoin to north and south ends, both with circular brick detail in gable and segmental brick arched openings. Interior not inspected.
