(Formerly listed as Laundry, knife house, stables and gateway about one yard north-east of Bockleton Court, BOCKLETON ROAD)

GV
II
Laundry, knife house, stables and gateway, now house and stores. Late C19 by Henry Curzon for Arabella Prescott. Brick with ashlar dressings, hipped and half-hipped plain tiled roofs with overhanging eaves and decorative ridge tiles.

Roughly U-shaped plan; laundry adjoins stable yard to south-west. Single-storey and attic with dormers and moulded eaves cornice. Windows are of chamfered mullioned type.

Laundry: T-plan with large chimney and brick ridge stack at junction of two ranges. Main south elevation: three ground floor mullioned and transomed windows and a central hipped-roofed tile-hung half-dormer with an oriel window of three lights and coved base. Main entrance to left has a ledged and battened door with a transom light. The rear wing was the original washroom and retains its long louvred roof vent. Knife House adjoins east end. South elevation has two shuttered windows and two doors
There are three loopholes and a door at the east end.

Stables: main north range has projecting coach house wing with clock tower at its eastern end. This has an open base with stepped brickwork arches and a round-arched loft door of cogged brickwork with a hoodmould and double doors with ornate strap hinges. The clock tower is corbelled out from the gable apex and forms a square turret with a south clock face, and a pyramidal roof with swept overhanging eaves and finial. The rest of the main north range to the left is extended down to form a covered walkway on two cast iron posts. There is a two-light; a single-light and a three-light window on the ground floor, three hipped-roofed, tile-hung dormers with two-light casements and three doors. The west side of the yard adjoining the laundry has a three-light and two-light ground floor window, two small similar dormers with louvred openings and two doors. The north range has three two-light ground floor windows, two louvred dormers and two doors.

The gateway to the yard has walls about four feet high with ridge coping and about two yards long to the west and one yard to the east. They terminate in square piers about six feet high which have shallow domical cappings with dentilled decoration similar to that found on the woodwork in the main house.
