Details
BODENHAM CP off BOWLEY LANE (east side) SO 55 SW 5/37 Barn and adjoining shelter sheds about 30 yards north- 11.6.59 east of Broadfield Court GV II Barn and adjoining shelter sheds. C17 with mid-C19 and late C20 alterations. Timber-framed and weatherboarded on sandstone rubble base with plain tiled roof. Five framed bays aligned north/south with central wagon bay and opposed cart entries. Mainly three panels from sill to wall-plate. Roof structure has been partly replaced. There are four intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts and two tiers of purlins. Shelter sheds adjoin north end of barn and form L-shaped range adjoining east end of barn 20 yards north of Broadfield Court (qv). Sandstone rubble with stone-tiled and slate roofs. There is a six- bay and a four-bay shelter shed aligned east/west; the four-bay shed has a two- bay south return. The sheds are open to the south and west respectively, supported on timber uprights. There are tie-beam trusses within.
