Details

BODENHAM CP off A 417 (east side) SO 55 SW SO 55 SE 5/6 Cowhouse and linhay 6/6 adjoining Wood House Farmhouse and granary to the west GV II Cowhouse and linhay. Probably late C17,extended in mid-C19. Sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, some weatherboarding and machine-tiled roofs. Cowhouse is of roughly five bays and two levels. Openings all have cambered heads: Main south elevation has three ground floor windows, a rectangular light, a loft opening and four doorways, three of which have stable doors. Weatherboarding at south gable end. The linhay adjoins the west end of the cowhouse linked by a small passageway with a steeply-pitched roof and south doorway. The linhay has gable-end parapets and is of two bays. The openings on both levels are now largely blocked with boarded infill. There is a double doorway in the left bay. The cowhouse adjoins the west gable end of the granary (qv). Included for group value.
