Dovecot about 50 yards
south-east of

Dovecot. Probably early C18. Deep sandstone rubble plinth. Timber-framed
with brick nogging. Pyramidal Welsh slate roof with lantern. Square plan
aligned north-west/south-east. Two storeys. South-east elevation has thin
closely set studs in two rows between plinth and wall-plate crossed by long
diagonal members from corners of wall-posts. Two small openings. Entry with
ledged door to right-hand side of plinth. Lantern has 16 glazing bars, pyramidal
roof and moulded oak finial. Right return has stairs rising from north to ledged
door into first floor. Interior noted as having several rows of nesting holes in
upper part of framed walling. (BoE, p 207; RCHM, Vol III, p 88).
