KING'S PYON CP - SO 44 NW 4/46 Granary and stables about 20 yards west-south-west of Butthouse GV II

Granary and stables. Probably C18, with later alterations. Sandstone rubble and timber-frame with brick nogging and weatherboards. Corrugated asbestos roofs. L-plan with three bay north arm and five-bay west arm. Two storeys. East elevation has two shuttered first floor openings, one to either side of two-leaved ledged doors reached from tallet stairs rising from the right-hand side. Ground floor has central opening with oak diagonal mullions. Ledged door to either side of tallet stairs. Frame is restricted to first floor and is two square panels high to wall-plate. Angle struts from two wall-posts to wall-plate. South elevation has 3:1 openings with gable front to right-hand side. Three ledged doors, the centre one a stable door. Interior has raking struts to west arm and queen struts to north arm. (RCHM, Vol III, p 88).
