Details
STOKE PRIOR CPAND SO 55 SW STOKE PRIOR (DET) CP 5/96 Wickton Court 11.6.59 GV II House. C17, altered and extended late C18 and mid-C19 with further late C20 alterations. Roughcast timber-frame on rubble base, with some rubble walling and partly hipped stone-tiled roof laid in diminishing courses with brick ridge stacks. L-plan with two-bay wing to south-west and three- bay wing to north-west originally both later extended by one bay; south-west wing retains original porch wing. Two storeys. Framing: not visible externally apart from porch wing (see later). South-east front elevation: four bays. There are three 12-pane sashes on both floors of varying sizes. The porch wing projects from bay 3. It has two rows of panels at ground floor level, three rows of panels at first floor level and a collar and tie- beam truss with three struts and a swept V-strut above the collar. The first floor is jettied on a moulded bressummer with run-out chamfer stops and pendants at the ends. There is a 3-light C20 first floor casement and in the right side is a 2-light C20 ovolo wood-mullioned window. The outer entrance has a moulded surround and within is the original battened door with moulded fillets and ornamental strap hinges. There is a C19 rear wing and also C19 lean-to additions in the rear angle and at the north-west end. Interior: on the ground floor is a room lined with original panelling.
