10/61 Spire View and Victoria Place (formerly 16.10.67 listed as tenements occupied by Bridges and Sadland opposite Greyhound Inn)
GV II
Hall and cross-wing, now two tenements. C14 or C15 core with C17 cross-wing, extensively restored during C20. Square panelled timber-framing with part brick and part wattle-and-daub infill on sandstone rubble plinth; tiled roof. Hall of three bays aligned east/west with cross-wing at west end, end and lateral stacks and entrances to south front. Two storeys with raised roof- line to hall-range. North front: three 2-light casement windows on first floor; ground floor ledged door to left of two 4-pane casement windows. Pointed headed doorway, 4-pane window and canted bay to right. Gable end of cross-wing with jettied upper floor, largely renewed timber-framing. One 7-light C20 mullioned window to upper floor, similar 5-light mullioned window to ground floor. The hall range is said to retain part of a cruck truss. (RCHM, Vol III, p 165, item 22).
