Details
LETTON CP - SO 34 NW 3/74 Hackmoor Hall - II House. Probably C17 with C18 extension and later alterations. Timber- frame with brick infill and sandstone rubble gable. Concrete tile roof with brick end stack. Rectangular four-bay plan aligned east/west. One storey and attic. South elevation has four windows, gabled late C20 dormers with 2-light casements. Ground floor has two similar casements to left, a square light to right of porch and further to right, a canted 2-light late C20 bay window. Gabled porch with ledged mid-C20 oak door to right of centre. Attached to right-hand side is a timber-framed lean-to. West gable is sandstone rubble. East gable has exposed collar supported by queen struts. Frame is three panels high from cill to wall-plate with thick scantling, probably C17, to left and centre and thinner scantling, probably C18, to right. Interior has C17 panelling in entrance hall.
