KEMERTON CP UPPER KEMERTON SO 9437 - 9537 9/93 Priory Garden Cottage - II
Shown on OS Map as Northwood Cottage. House. C17 with mid-C19 alterations. Timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill on limestone rubble base, part coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Thatched roof, half-hipped at west end, with brick stack at east end of ridge. Two framed bays aligned east/west, external chimney at west end with tall detached brick stack. Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: mainly three panels from sill to wall-plate; truncated collar and tie- beam truss with three struts at west end. South front elevation: there is a 3-light chamfered stone mullioned window which has a hoodmould with returns and C19 casements in the eastern bay and a 2-light C19 casement in the west bay. Above each bay is an eyebrow dormer with a 2-light casement. The main entrance in the east bay has a chamfered Tudor-arched head, a hoodmould with returns and a ledged and battened door. Attic lights in gable end, (there are two chamfered rectangular lights at the east end which have been blocked). At the rear of the east bay is a mullioned window similarly detailed to that in the front elevation. A lean-to addition adjoins the west end with a ledged and battened door in its south end. Interior: said to have been little altered.
