Miller's house, now house. c1630, altered and extended mainly during early C19 and mid-C20. Part timber-framed with painted brick infill and replace- ment walling, part brick, mid-C20 external sandstone rubble chimney with brick stack at south gable end and also brick stack at north gable end of early C19 part. A single framed bay remains of the Cl7 building on the site, which has a 2-bay early C19 extension at its south gable end, taller in height. Both parts are 2 storeys, the older part has a 3-course band between storeys at its north gable end; the later extension has a dentilled eaves cornice. Framing exposed at first floor level of the main west elevation; irregular, mainly 3 small square panels from girding beam to wall-plate with a long, straight brace in the lower left corner. Main west elevation: C17 part has a 3-light, C20 casement on the ground floor and paired early C19 casements and c C20 rectangular light at first floor level; the C19 part has two C20 multi-paned bow windows and two first floor 16-pane sashes with cambered heads. The main entrance is now in a C20 single storey extension at the south gable end; there are also C19 and C20 single storey extensions at the rear. Included for group value.
