Farmhouse. Early C17 with late C19 alterations and additions. Timber- framed, painted brick and rendered infill on lias limestone rubble base, plain tiled roofs. Hall and cross-wing plan; hall part of three framed bays aligned east/west; central fireplace bay forms a lobby-entry plan and has a group of two C17 diagonal stacks and a C19 stack; cross-wing of two framed bays at east gable end. Part single storey and attic with dormers, part two storeys and attic. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in lower corners of cross-wing; west gable end of hall part has a collar and tie-beam truss with two struts to collar and V-strut in apex. Cross-wing has collar and tie-beam trusses with two collars; north truss has three struts to lower and two to upper collar and concave V-strut in apex; south truss has three struts to lower and upper collar. North front elevation: hall part has a pair of 2-light casements and a 3-light casement on the ground floor, all have plank weatherings; two gabled dormers with 2-light casements; central 6-panelled door with flat moulded canopy above on wrought iron brackets. Cross-wing has plank weatherings at floor levels and above upper collar; 3-light ground-floor casement with cambered head, 2-light first-floor casement and an attic light. Attic light at west gable end. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest. C19 additions at rear.
