House, with wing once post office. C17, encased C18, extended early C19, Timber- frame core encased and extended in brick, since colourwashed, old plain tile and slate roof. End on to road. 3 bay timber-frame with bay added to far end and wing added along roadside to make L-shaped building, and early part outshot to rear. Road elevation 1½ storey, 3 bay with in right bay, end of C17 building, early C19 shop-front of door with window beside with pilasters and shutters to window. C19 casement, with another above, in centre bay with stack on front wall to left and C19 door and casement in left bay. Side elevation 1½ storey, 3 bay with 4th bay to right. Early C19 4-panel door in small projecting porch with moulded cornice. 4 irregular C19 3-light casements with segmental heads. Above left 3 windows 3-light casements with hipped dormers, that to centre at higher level. Large ridge stack above door and projecting stack in left corner. It is thought that this is the oldest Post Office set up in the county having started on March 17th 1845.
