Details
SU 1405 RINGWOOD MARKET PLACE (north side) 15/12 Nos 18 and 20 (Pearsons) 30.9.64 GV II
Town hall, now offices. Circa 1700, altered C18 & C19. Brick, part hung with mathematical tiles, stone dressings, front painted, slate roof to front, rest old plain tile. 2 storey and attic, 5 bay x 2 bay front range with 3 bay off-centre wing to rear and to one side of it parallel range to front range with further service buildings behind. Front has slightly projecting central bay. A plinth runs from each end to either side of early C19 Ionic porch on stone step, with 4 columns on front, 2 pilasters on corners, under pair of half-glazed double doors with timber pilaster between. Over Venetian window and pediment. In 2 bays either side C18 12-pane sashes, several altered with glazing bars removed. Moulded cornice and low parapet with coping. Tall hipped roof with central hipped dormer.
