House. C14 aisled hall with timber posts surviving, C15 cross wing and passage, C16 reduction of the hall and insertion of fireplaces and upper floor, C17 refacing of the cross wing, C18 addition, and minor C19 and C20 changes. The west front wall is a refacing of flint, with brick quoins, cambered arches to the ground- floor openings (two filled), with older stone quoins in the lowest part: the much- altered south wall has flintwork in the lower part with stone and brick quoins, the upper part being a refacing(C19) in brickwork of English bond: the north elevations are of flint with brick dressings (indicating alterations): the east elevations (in two planes) showing an exposed bricknogged timber frame (C16) and flintwork with brick dressings (C18): Tile roof, hipped at the west, has a gable and half-hip at the east ends. Symmetrical south front of two storeys)file windows casements, gabled porch with decorative bargeboards. Other elevations are irregular showing features of several periods, including a C15 stone window (with deep interior splay). Interior: large Tudor-arched fireplace, and another fireplace with bressumer above stone jambs, exposure of timber columns from the original C14 hall. An archaeological survey was carried out in 1968 by Prof. B Cunliffe and John Budden, with a consequent report, explaining the phases (missing and surviving) of the farmhouse.
