Details

BEAULIEU HIGH STREET SU 3802/3902 (east side) 17/29 The Mill House (Formerly listed 8.10.59 as Mill and Mill House) GV II Mill House. Probably C17 origins, altered C18 and C19. Oldest part of rubble stone with brick dressings, this part rendered to front, rest brick, old plain tile roofs. 2 storey and attic 3 bay front pile, 3 storey rear pile with small wing behind. Front has central 6-panel door. Each side 4-light transomed casements with shutters. On 1st floor central 2-light casement under eaves. Each side large 4-light casement. All except central window are under segmental arches. Over flanking bays tall 1/2-hipped dormers with 2-light casements and C17 carved bargeboards with headstops. Roof 1/2-hipped to LH. Over centre large moulded stack.
