CHELSWORTH THE STREET 1. 5377 (north side) The White House and No 48 (The Granary) TL 9848 52/231 II 2. The White House is a C17 timber-framed building refronted in the early C19 in brick (painted). Roof slate. Two storeys. Four window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Some of the original frame is exposed on the inside. No 48 (The Granary) was originally a granary attached to the White House. An C18 or early C19 brick building (painted) with a tiled mansard roof. Two storeys and attics. Three window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars (the centre window is blocked). A modern pantiled extension projects on the north-west end.
