Details

THORPE MORIEUX 1. 5377 Grove Farmhouse TL 95 SW 32/957 II 2. Former farmhouse. Circa 1820-30. Red brick in Flemish bond, hipped slate roof. Rectangular on plan. 2 storey, 3 bay symmetrical facade. Ground floor 6-pane horned sashes beneath cambered arches. 6 panel door, the upper 4 panels raised and fielded, the lower 2 flush, in moulded architrave with rosettes at the angles and beneath fanlight with glazing bars. HL hinges to door. 3 1st floor 12-pane sashes, that to centre original, two outer 2 horned replacements. Brick stack to left (that to right to be replaced),paired eaves brackets to all facades. Rear. 1st floor small paned casements. Interior: Doors to each side of entrance, of 4 raised panels,HL hinges. Slender wooden archway with elliptical head and raised key block to foot of stairs,and similar pair at head of stairs, though, that to right is plainer. Moulded alcoves to each side of fireplace.
