Early C19 building in unusual style for small country town. Suffolk brick. Three storeys. Slate roof. Five window range, sash with glazing bars and stone or stuccoed lintols. Centre of front bowed through the three storeys and includes three windows. The entire ground floor has a projecting Doric loggia of six columns and double-door entry each end.
Nos 40 to 58 (even) form a group.
