Details

CAVENDISH LANE 1. 5377 Glemsford Clock House TL 8248 18/134 II

2. A C17-C18 timber-framed and plastered house built on an L shaped plan. The north-east wing was refronted in the C19 in gault brick. During alterations in the older part of the house a coin dated 1699 was discovered embedded in the mortar of the brickwork. 2 storeys. The north-east wing has 3 window range, double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in plain reveals. The ground storey windows have louvred shutters and there is a central glazed door. Roof slate, hipped. The older part has casement windows and the roof is tiled. The interior has some exposed timber-framing.
