Details
THE GREEN EAST 1. 5377 Long Melford Summer House at Melford Hall (formerly listed as Melford Hall and Octagon) TL 8646 20/417 10.1.53. II* GV
2. A C16 red brick 2 storeyed octagonal building with octagonal corner buttresses surmounted by octagonal pinnacles. Each face of the octagon is surmounted by a gable with an octagonal pinnacle. The windows are C18 double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in stone surrounds with square hood moulds. The upper storey is reached by a straight flight of steps on the east side and a porch with short fluted columns. The Summer House is built into the west wall to Melford Hall at the north end.
