House, c.1600. 2 storeys. 2 cell lobby-entrance plan. Timber-framed and plastered. Asbestos slated roof, once thatched. An axial chimney, the shaft rebuilt in C19 red and gault brick. Mid C20 casements. Lean-to Roman pantiled entrance porch with glazed door at lobby-entrance position. Unmoulded framing of late C16 or early C17 type, with unchamfered floor joists laid flat, complete studding, and clasped purlin roof. Back-to-back open fireplaces. The house has many timbers reused from a medieval house, the most singificant being a cambered tiebeam from the central truss of an open hall; there is evidence for a pair of large archbraces and a queenpost roof.
