4/77 Unoccupied house, 50m - south of Old Hall Cottage

-- II

House, C17 or earlier. 3-cell lobby-entrance plan. One storey and attics. Timber-framed and pebbledashed: the rear elevation is encased in C19 red brick. Corrugated iron roof, once thatched, with two C19 raking dormers (casements boarded-up). An axial C17/C18 chimney of plastered brick. Two boarded up casements, probably of C18/C19, and a pair of C19 boarded entrance doors. To left is an extension with low-pitched roofs; this was probably added when the building was divided into 3 cottages in C19. Building unoccupied at date of survey. Interior not examined, but believed to contain good framing of C17 or earlier, with little alteration.
