-- II
House, early C16. 2 storeys with attics. 3-cell cross-entry plan. Timber- framed and plastered: C19 herringbone pargetting. The 1st floor is long-wall jettied along the frontage; most framing concealed but some chamfered brackets and shafts with moulded capitals are visible beneath the jetty. Plaintiled roof: an early C17 axial chimney of red brick with 4 moulded octagonal shafts. A second similar chimney, internal to the left hand gable. Both chimneys have shafts rebuilt in C19. Late C19 small-pane 3-light casements, those at ground storey with transomes. Doorway at cross-entry position: C17 12-panelled oak door, or possibly a C19 copy. Interior not examined: the house probably has good C16 features.
